Thought and Speech
this post is based on an idea I saw at the book: GUARD YOUR TONGUE
What is stronger the thought or the speech?
We speak a lot about thought, feeling and affirmation; all vital to attract what we want in life…So what is stronger thought or speech? When to use thought only? Speech Only?
Thought and speech, although similar in some aspects they have very unique characteristics.
Difference Number One: Speech is easier to control than thought.
There is a simple test to prove my point. While it is easy to keep our mouth shut for an hour, is almost impossible, for almost everyone, not to think that long, or even less. Thought many times comes to us against our own will, and even more difficult, we have to make an effort to concentrate on what we really want to focus.
Difference Number Two: No one really knows what you think.
No one can really know what you are really thinking. While when we turn thought into speech, the idea becomes known to the recipient, giving a chance to the listener to accept or not. It is a way of releasing an idea to the physical realm. Once said, it cannot go back, even if you had different intentions.
Difference Number Three: Thought Affects Emotions. We can really say something and feel something else, actually we do this frequently. Some neighbor we don’t really like, but we keep cold, friendly ties. The hello he gets, it is different from the hello someone closer gets. There is a detachment between thought and speech. On the other hand is very difficult to think about something we like, and feel something else, and the emotion, the feeling, is a key factor on attracting.
The Popcorn Test: An easy way to prove that thought affects our body and emotion more than words is the popcorn test. Think about popcorn real hard. Most people can easily make their mouth water, even if the popcorn only exists on the mind, even more than, is hard to think about popcorn and intentionally induce a feeling of hate or any other than the one we really have concerning the item we are focusing at.
The most effective affirmations are the ones that go together with emotion, visualization. Speech releases the idea on to the physical world while the thought affects your emotion and your spirit. Yet many times thought is difficult to control, so we start affirming, since it is easier to control and through repetition, we attain focus on our mind, to think on what we really want, and take our mind back on track to the goal we want to achieve. Be careful with negative speech since, now you know it can induce bad thoughts and, in consequence, attract unnecessary experiences and unfruitful meetings with undesired persons. It is always good to keep the speech calm and clean.
